We are Derailer Coffee, a Hillyard based coffee shop opening in Spokane later this spring. We hope to provide a space for the Hillyard community to gather – drink good coffee, laugh together, and exchange ideas – all while honoring Hillyard’s history as a rail town.

Though our team has been working super hard behind the scenes in preparation, we’re still new to the coffee shop game and will appreciate your grace and your feedback as we dive in and learn the ropes this week! Our team at Derailer loved the ethos of a lever pull espresso machine, but affordable options aren’t easy to come by! When one popped up on Facebook marketplace, the team hopped at the chance, renting a mini van and road-tripping all the way to Sacramento to pick it up. We’ve been lovingly restoring it for the past year as The United Building renovations were underway and are so excited to share it with you all soon! 🎉 Swipe to see some progress shots from along the restoration journey.
